What you need to know

A clear route, based on your case.

Saudi Arabia now has several electronic options. The ETA is a multiple-entry route for eligible travel purposes, the tourist eVisa has separate tourism conditions, and the older Electronic Visa Waiver remains a single-entry route. We check which option fits the journey.

ETA 730-day validity with multiple entries
180 days total Across the ETA validity period
EVW Single entry for up to 180 days
eVisa Tourism route with separate conditions
Application checklist

Information and requirements.

The final requirements depend on the chosen electronic route. These are the usual documents and checks to prepare.

01

Information to prepare

  • Clear digital copy of the British passport bio page
  • Recent digital passport-size photograph
  • Accurate personal and travel information
  • Flight details when required for the EVW route
  • Passport valid for at least six months after arrival
02

Route comparison

  • ETA supports tourism, business, study, medical treatment and Umrah outside Hajj season
  • EVW is single entry and should be applied for at least 48 hours before the flight
  • Tourist eVisa is valid for 365 days and allows multiple entries within its stay limit
  • Electronic routes do not authorise employment
  • Hajj requires a separate Hajj visa
How the process works

From first review to final submission.

We keep the sequence organised so time-sensitive documents are prepared before the final appointment.

01

Compare the routes

We confirm the passport, travel purpose, length of stay and number of planned journeys.

02

Send digital documents

Provide a clear passport scan and a compliant digital photograph.

03

Review the details

Names, passport information and proposed travel details are checked for consistency.

04

Receive the approval

Once issued, keep the electronic travel approval with your passport and journey documents.

Practical guidance

Important details before you proceed.

01

Saudi ETA

The current ETA is valid for 730 days and permits multiple entries, with no more than 180 days in total across that period. It can cover tourism, business, study, medical treatment and Umrah outside Hajj season.

02

Electronic Visa Waiver

The EVW is a single-entry route allowing a stay of up to 180 days. It can be requested up to 90 days before travel and should be submitted at least 48 hours before the flight.

03

Tourist eVisa

The tourist eVisa is valid for 365 days with multiple entries and up to 90 days in total. It is for tourism-related activities and includes limited health insurance under the official scheme.

Important

Electronic travel permissions do not permit Saudi employment. Rules can change, so the chosen route and passport details must be checked before every journey.

Common applicant questions

Clear answers before you proceed.

These answers are general guidance. Ask the A & M team to confirm what applies to your individual case.

Which electronic route should I choose?

That depends on your passport, purpose of travel, planned stay and number of journeys. A & M can compare the available routes before you apply.

Can I use an electronic route to work in Saudi Arabia?

No. The ETA, tourist eVisa and Electronic Visa Waiver do not authorise Saudi employment. Employment requires the appropriate work visa route.

What information should I prepare?

Usually a clear passport bio-page image, a compliant digital photograph and accurate travel details. Flight details are also required for some routes.
